June 16th 2024, Lions U15 vs KKR U15

The U15s really showed some great spirit on Sunday but went down to an 8 player KKR.

 

Juto lost the toss and the Lions were sent into bat. 

 

We had some very productive partnerships in the middle, especially between Juto (33) and Sam (42) and Ethan (13) and Tasuku (9). After 20 over we had 137 which is a respectable total.

 

Our bowlers didn’t quite find their mark at first and wides and no balls were amassed 30 runs. Sam was fearsome and Juto accurate and we even had contributions from Jay, who always gets a wicket, and Tom, who got a wicket too.  Well done boys.

 

Unfortunately the two Sri Lankan brothers who are in the National squad took to the bowling and belted 38 and 45 respectively. In the 11th over we went down.

 

We also waived off our captain Juto to NZ for a few months. Thanks for leading the boys so well Juto and see you soon. Sam will be our captain in the interim. Congratulations Sam!
