It was a real pleasure to watch the Lions performance on Saturday against the Tokyo Titans. A fantastic team performance and the best Lions performance I have seen in my 3 years as club manager.
Taiga won the toss and elected to bat. Taiga and Kaede opened the batting and got us off to a flyer with Taiga 42 not out and Kaede showing so much flair with his 35 not out. Timmy was amongst the runs with a cracking 40 not out and Juto looked very polished with a stylish 22. Leo hit the shot of the season with a mammoth 6 over mid on and Nived with 2 cracking 4s through covers. We hit our biggest score yet of of 206 off 20 overs.
The Titans were no easy beats with some accurate bowling and 2 Japan national squad players amongst their ranks.
The Lions bowling and fielding was also spot on. Kaede took an amazing catch in slips, but not to be outdone, Timmy then took a screamer! Kaede, Leo and Juto all took 2 wickets and Sam’s opening of the bowling got us off to a great start. He was also amongst the wickets with 1/6 off 2 overs. Jamie was a fielding demon and covered every position on the field and George had a go at keeping and kept the extras down. Well done boys!
