October 23rd, Lions vs Kawasaki Knight Riders

This was the second of the games between the Lions and the Knight Riders this season, the first being in May and ending with a convincing win for the Lions.

Today the Knight Riders were fielding a team of 8 players and having won the toss they elected to bat first. The innings did not proceed well for them, starting with a two wicket maiden first over, bowled by Timmy, followed up with wickets also being taken in the second, third and fourth overs. The Knight Riders end all out for 84, with three of the players batting twice, however they battled to 19.3 overs with an impressive defense of the wicket from some of the younger tail enders and a strong spell of scoring by Ishan Lal batting his second over.

After the first few overs of the Lions innings the game was never in doubt, with the opening partnership of Taiga and Timmy making comfortable work of any loose balls; the pair amassed a total of 59 (excluding extras) before they both had to retire after facing the maximum permitted number of runs. Noah and Kirren then completed the game by achieving the winning score and taking the Lions to an 8 wicket win.
