August 2nd 2024, Lions U19 vs Uenomiya U19
The Kansai boys and girls were set on revenge in our second match against Uenomiya. They had an advantage in that we could only field 7 players. Lot’s of heart shown by Timmy even though he wasn’t 100% fit.
Timmy lost the toss and Uenomiya went into bat. Our bowlers weren’t on the mark with Timmy 1/36 off 4, Nived 1/22 off 2 and Eric 1/20 off 3. When we were bowling a good length, Eric splayed the stumps and our old favourite bowled Timmy caught Taiga made an appearance. After some strong batting from their captain, Uenomiya were 3/147.
Taiga (38) and Sam (5) opened the batting with Taiga hitting a mammoth 6 over the bowlers head. With Sam run out Nived (18) came to the crease and hit some stylish 4s. In a shortened match, after 16 overs, the Lions were well short at 1/86.
