U15 League Semi Finals, Lions U15 vs AQCC U15

I am sure all of Japan could hear the Lions roar from Sano on Saturday! 🦁

We came in 2nd in the Under 15s Japan Cup League so headed to the Sano International Cricket Ground to take on our old foes, the Alpha Quashers, who came in third, in the semi finals.

After Taiga lost the toss, the Lions were sent in to bat on a wet ground. Timmy and Taiga opened the batting and got us off to a solid start; Timmy with 52 off 30 and Taiga with 19 off 28 and both retiring not out. Timmy hit 2 huge sixes. Kanato came in at No. 5 to crack 15 off 20 with two lovely 4s. After 20 overs the Lions had scored 8/137.

The Alpha Quashers have an impressive batting line up but Timmy removed their powerful opener for 4 in the first over, taking 3/21 off 4 and Sam also did a great job and took 3/16 off 2. Juto with his leggies was his destructive self, taking 2/10 off 4, and Kanato with 1/11 off 2. Our catching also improved with Timmy taking 3, Juto taking 2 and Eric taking 2. Timmy with a player of the match performance.

After bowling out the AQs for 115, we booked a place in the finals against GIIS.

Stats: Highest scoring batsman : Timmy (52), best batting strike rate : Timmy (173), most wickets : Timmy & Sam (3 each), best bowling economy : Juto (2.5).
