A replay of the U15 final only 5 months before, however with a much younger Lions team; unfortunately the result was to be almost the same.
GIIS won the toss and elected to bat. The batting proceeded slowly, the Lions bowlers not making things easy, however the winter cobwebs were evident with a large number of extras. In all 10 Lions bowled during the innings with 6 of them taking wickets. GIIS were bowled out in the 16th over on 123, with only 60 of these being off the bat. Despite the quality of their bowling, the Lions were feeling confident they could chase down the total.
Luck, however, was not with them and a combination of the winter cobwebs and a number of inexperienced players meant that our enemy the run-out was to surface its ugly head with 5 of the Lions falling that way. Despite a Valliant 32 from Sam, the Lions were dispatched in the 19th over on a total of 104.
