We played our first match against Uenomiya CC, a Kansai team.
Timmy, our captain, lost the toss and were sent into bat.
Timmy (46) and Sam (10) opened the batting and got us off to a great start. After 8 overs we were looking good at 1/41. Timmy was joined by Tomo (30) and later by Eric (8). After 20 overs we were 2/129 in some hot conditions and an uneven wicket.
Eric (0/14) and Tomo (1/17) opened the bowling with Tomo taking a wicket in his first over. Uenomiya then sacrificed two wickets with Taiga affecting 2 run outs in quick succession after Pratyush pounced on the ball and fired it into the keeper. Sam (2/15) then fired in two screamers clean bowling two, to be on a hat trick. Mantra (2/17) and Timmy (2/15) were also tidy with two wickets each and Hayato (1/15) with one wicket. We held on to most of our catches but there were also a few dropped catches.
After Taiga took a regulation catch behind the stumps off Timmy, Uenomiya were all out for 95. In the end, it was a bit closer than necessary. Timmy with a MOTM performance with 2 wickets and 46 runs.
